Likely going from Dublin also first week end of September.
Last year I took the Dub-Holyhead, then Hull-Rotterdam, is this
the way you are going yourself ?
I find it minimize driving, the Hull ferry is quiet comfy, and by arriving at 8h30
in Rotterdam, you can be at the Ring at 11h00 without wasting time.
Would have loved to join in.....

ive not been for quite a while due to the clampdown on insurance. dont name names here but are you guys all chancing it (ie ring not specifically excluded) or does anyone know for sure that they are covered ?

<off topic> - that's the Kleine Karussel - don't think you can enter the Karussel proper at that pace?!
nope, it's the big karussel; it's uphill and you can see the area around steilstrecke in the distance

we are talking about the profile pics and not the ones that Jules posted

Oh, I assumed the ones on the thread were the same... sorry! I mean Jules's ones.

Glad my nerdy posting elicited some excellent pictures of Carraciola Karussel - clearly I should be able to enter & exit quicker than I currently do!
It should be noted that the enthusiasm with which one attacks the Karussell is directly proportional to the bills you get from replacing/repairing suspension parts!

have just explored the insurance angle - the position on a standard policy is evolving almost weekly and its hard to be comforted by policy language - as others have said you really need to proceed on the basis you are not covered
as for stand alone day/weekend top up cover you can get cover for damage to your own vehicle but not for third party liability (inc the Ring's own costs if you smash up the Armco/close it etc - for which you are back to a battle with your standard vehicle insurer - one view being that 3rd party cover isn't excludable only the own vehicle element)
I was quoted £592 for a day which would be for a vehicle valued at £65k with an excess of £6.5k - email me through my profile if you want the contact/more detail
