JPM - First NASCAR Busch Series race?

Won't it be after his contract ends with McLaren? I thought I'd heard 'the cock TM' talk about it at the last GP. I initially thought that Ron Dennis had let him go early so he could start racing, but its maybe just going to be testing and getting seat time. I don't think he's actually allowed to 'race' until October.

But, would love to see him in action before then if possible.

There was some talk of him starting racing in August. He's not on the entry list for Watkins Glen this weekend though.

If it's next year it'll be February 17th at Daytona for the Busch series Daytona 300 held the day before the big event, the Daytona 500 (which is a Nextel Cup only race so he won't be in the 500)

IMHO he's going to find it tough in the Busch Series as quite a lot of Nextel Cup drivers race in it.

whats the bets that montoya will end up in the wall? paul tracy (champ cars) tried it last year and just could not find the right groove! montoya is going to struggle with the weight and the fact you have to drive smooth

I seem to recall that Montoya has previously been quite successful racing on US ovals and road circuits, albeit in open wheeled formulae, which suggests he can drive smoothly when the race demands it. Lack of driver aids may actually help him in that respect.

Of course he will need to be deeply religious to achieve any success and he may not find things too easy, but he will at least get some wheel to wheel racing opportunities which he seems to crave.
