posting history on gassing station

I have been searching for a post from a few years ago and I can't find it. It looks like all posts before Aug 2004 have vanished. (Despite this section saying there are 3200 odd pages, there are only about 1400 with posts).

Was there a clearout, or is it a rolling process?
