Ferrari to Lambo - Dont do it!!!
Discussion
A cautionary tale for thos of you considering a move from Ferrari to Lamborghini.
I love my Gallardo but the service is useless.
My wifes volvo had a service recently, Marshals Volvo pick it up.
My Audi A4 Cab needs a service, booked it in today, John Fox Audi are picking it up.
My £100k+ Lambo has a fault under warranty, which it has had since I first got it, I've apparently got to waste 4 1/2 hours taking it there and another 4 1/2 hours picking it up.
Just how crap is that.
I'm steaming mad, Are the Birmingham dealer set up enough to do warranty work and collect it?
If not do I recall that Lambo High Wycombe collect?
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
Come back Graypaul, they were superb and I sorely miss their service!!!

Hi bertie,
Are you using lambo London? I've used lambo manchester from day one and I have to say there customer service is excellent. Simon the head tech there, will go out of his way to make sure what can be done under warranty gets done and everything else I've had dealings with them seems really good, maybe give them a try.
BTW, Birmingham is now open and selling Lambo's. As for the service side of thing s I don't know yet if that's up and running.
Andy.

I'm not suppose to name on here am I but lets just say I drive north from Derby to get to them!
I'm afraid my expierance is very, very different to yours on this!
Lambo Birmingham are opening for service in the next couple of weeks and are sorting it for me.

I don't understand this, whenever I want something done I just phone up Lamborghini Assist and they come collect the car to take it to the HROwen place, then the bring it back to home or the office
Two questions, who / what is Lamborghini Assist?
Are you saying the take it for service / warranty work or just breakdown cover?
Lambo Birmingham are opening in the next week or so.

It's the breakdown/recovery service (I thought it came free with all the cars), when they came to collect my car is was the same people with a flat loader who do the Ferrari breakdown cover.
They came to collect and deliver my car - but the car did have a fault on it
If you look at the Lamborghini London website it says that they do Collection and delivery for service
www.lamborghini.co.uk/?section=dealers&dealer=london&sub_section=service_and_parts
Bertie, not many dealers I know send someone on a 4hr round trip to collect a customers car. Normally a transporter in that case, with you footing the bill. I assume your Volvo and Audi dealers are a bit closer hence the collection so not comparing like with like.
Besides all that, I doubt I'd let someone else drive it anyway but that's a personal preference.

Lambo Assist are the best recovery service I have ever dealt with and send a covered truck usually within an hour. And I don't know what dealer you are referring to but I do know most of Lambo Birmingham's tech's are at the factory undergoing training and Lambo Manchester is doing their PDI's and service work. They have only just opened so give them a little time and yea I dunno why Lambo assist can't help you. Lambo Manchester have the most helpful and accomadating staff I have had to deal with anywhere. They can't do enough. Ferrari dealers and their disgraceful level of service should take note. And I have suffered this many times first hand
In aswer to the many questions...
It's a couple of niggly faults which the car has had since I got it, they tried to fix it once but it didn't work. So it's not a vehicle off road / breakdown thing hence Lambo assist isn't relevant. I'm sure they're great but I hope to never have to find out!
The Volvo dealer are 1 1/4 away, the Audi dealer just over and hour away depending on traffic, Lamborghini are 2 hours away.
What am I expected to do, take a day off work every time the car goes wobbly and needs attention or a service?
My expierance with Graypaul has perhaps spoiled me, they are without doubt the best dealer I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. They would collect the car in one of their covered tranporters from anywhere in the country, the work was always superbly done and the vehicle immaculate on return and they'd deliver it back to anywhere in the country. I'm dearly hoping that their Birmingham Lambo dealer will be run in the same professional manner.
The new service guy there who I spoke to didn't seem remotely bothered I wasn't happy and simply said goodbye. As someone said, yes it says on the website they do a collection & delivery service, but it's not true as I pointed out to them.
As I've said I'm not supposed to say which of the 2 UK dealers it is but it isn't London.
That some of you have great things to say about them is even more astonishing, one question for Simon and the other owners, how do you get your car there?

Don't Graypaul Nottingham do Lamborghini services?
Sadly not.
But here's an example of the level of service Graypaul offer, even when I sold the Ferrari and got the Lambo they said they'd collect the Lamobo and arrange the service for me with Lambo High Wycombe as they did a lot of business with them.
Much as I love the Lambo, that's the sort of customer service that has you aching to go back to a Ferrari.
As I’ve learnt you do have to be a little realistic with your expectations, even though it is Lamborghini!
Lamborghini Assistance as Simon points out are by far the best recovery service in the market, covered trucks, smart & knowledgeable Audi chaps between the hours of 9-6 to watch you car being loaded on + friendly call centre staff.
My only gripe!....The loans cars, which are shite! But they do get you from "a 2 b" un-quote! ....hmmmmm (Bring back the RS product)
There is a limit to the level of service a small dealership can offer, eg paid delivery drivers + flatbed truck etc all cost big £'s + insurance etc & i don't think they have the margins, they are a business after all.
They perhaps ought to look @ contracting a firm to collect & deliver your car maybe via the agents used by Lambo assist, then send over the bill to the customer. If you’re a busy chap? This is probably more attractive then a 4 hour round trip etc Customers ought to have the choice.
I understand your frustrations & if you've actually purchased the vehicle from the same garage you do expect people to go out of their way to help & so you should.
For me the after sales service is more important than the actual sales process. In the most part that may just be a prompt return phone call or knowledgeable friendly staff. Again for me, this counts for so much when i decide what to buy next & where from!
I drop mine off 1st thing on a week day morning, then pick it up of a Saturday when its ready.....nice start to the day etc
Best thing to do is to write out a list of all your issues, fax/email the list through & point out that you don't want the vehicle back until all the issues have been corrected.
Logically, Greypaul will be charging you for the privilege of their truck somehow, don't be fooled!
