I have, for the past hour and a half, been hooning around in my P&J with my new PSE and I'm as happy as a happy thing that's just passed his exams in the study of happiness

To ALL that recommended the PSE - I salute you.

Oh momma......I love my car. You should all thank yourselves lucky that I don't know how to post an MPEG or you'd have to listen to it as well.......

Not yet. Going to get the electrics/electronics installed in a few weeks, but to be honest - not sure I'll ever want to turn it off - except when I'm asleep!
If you (or anyone else) can tell me how to post an MPEG - I'll do a before and after soundbite. (THAT'S how sad I am.......)

Mate, I am very happy for you.

To the uninitiated I cannot even begin to describe how good they are. Windows up, windows down, bliping on downshifts, or scaring children and old ladies whist giving it the full berries in second.

Never before has "the loud pedal" been such an apt description. Ballcock its the best £1000 you will ever spend on your car. A total transformation. My mate owns an £85k Turbo S and it p*sses him off everytime I floor my C2 in front of him. His car is awesome in every respect except the sound. It sounds - dare I say it - a little dull?

Well done Stu

Right backatcha Darren.

If you think what 1000 of Aunty Betty's finest will get you nowadays - the PSE has to be right up there The overrun, and changing down and throttle blippong are just outrageous. The mechanic that fitted it said that they actually sound better when they've beeded in and get a little 'coked-up' inside. Not massively noticeable - but better.
I'm in love

.. My OPC say they won't fit without doing the switch in parallel .. I know it's just a way of milking more money from my already sad and sorry wallet ..

If I can find a way of getting it done without the switch I'm there in a heartbeat ....

I sincerely hope (finances allowing) that I spend the rest of my driving days hooning around in Porsches. The one option over everything else I will always have is a PSE.

I would be interested to find out whether there is any truth to the suggestion that they liberate an extra 8bhp.

Perhaps a rolling road test using the switch jobbie is in order.......it is perhaps the only ever time the switch will get used

[Ok quick exit needed - Mrs C2 has just looked over my shoulder and is frowning at the suggestion of me spending more money on the car. Still I am pretty sure I have convinced her to buy me a gearbox short shifter for my birthday ]

Unfortunately our Ballcock is over the water in Eire. Ballcock surely there is someone overthere who can do the necessary. Clarkyjnr had his fitted by a mate whom I assume was not connected to an OPC.

Its got to be worth a go. You will never regret it

I'd have to be sure the warranty wouldn't be negated ..

Customer is told he can't have PSE without switch
Customer pimps his zaust sans switch without OPC approval
Customer gets screwed at next warranty juncture

There's a Tarantino movie there somewhere..............

Are ALL OPC's insistent that the PSE has to be installed with the switch ?

I forgot about the warranty issue.

In answer to your question I do not know. However could you imagine how indignant you would be if, for the sake of argument, you went in to have :cough: your RMS repalced only to be told "sorry Sir we will not pay for that because of your non standard exhaust..."

Sounds like a happy customer.

Picked up my 997C2S today and have literally spent the last 4 hours blasting around in it... Love it!!

Mine is an ex-demo that is dripping with options but it's going back in three weeks to have the PSE fitted... Can't wait!!

I've been waiting all week for this post from you !!!!

Now I know that Clarkey is even happier than Prince Happy of Happyland my 4S booking has just been confirmed at my local independant next Wednesday to lighten my pocket but increase my smile quotient. (Obviously no wiring on mine either !!)

Do you think a pair of twin oval exhaust finishers to ensure that no-one is left in any doubt exactly where the noise is coming from ?

What did you do/are you going to do with the original exhausts ? - seems a shame to skip mine with only 18000 miles and 2 years old. (Although the left hand one does have the dreaded baffle rattle at cold)

I'm pretty sure the warranty is only invalidated with fitment of non-Porche parts. But as I've only had my car 4 months and they happily extended the warranty the day before I brought privately(it was one day before the original one expired at 2 years) I guess I could claim it was fitted when I got it !

Fortunately this isn't the case, I've got a Techart exhaust system (nearly £4k), and Techart suspension and I've had plenty of warranty work done on it, was even serviced by an Indy.

I think DucatiGary's car is more Gemballa than Porsche now, in the same way Gary himself is more electronic than flesh and blood. He's also had plenty of warranty work done too.

There is of course no connection with DucatiGary off PH, who's car isn't in anyway tuned (especially not by Gemballa).

ETA: Congrats on the sports exhaust.

c2dtg makes sure you try a short shifter first if you haven't already. I hate mine.

So approx how much is a PSE fitted by an indie with no wiring ?

I'm looking to get one next year. Probably looking to spend £1k all in. The Techart one sounds wayyyyy too expensive much for me !!

Any other reasonably priced sports exhausts to recommend by anyone ??

hussar - I thought the C4S came with a sports exhaust as standard, all the ones I see/hear sound pretty fruity already - had always assumed that was the PSE?
