Last night I got rid of the Tamora. I've flirted with the idea of changing for a little while, and sorted out a good deal on a new Lotus 111R. I've always fancied one, and due to the stage of life I'm at, this will be the last two seater for a bit once I'm done with the Lotus.
I've loved the TVR and last night was a very bitter sweet moment. Contrary to the doom and gloom spoken by some, I got a pretty decent trade in, so even the last stages of ownership weren't too painful.
All lot has been said about TVR, both positive and negative. For the record, my experience of owning one has been largely positive. The engine in mine was fine and niggles were rare. My experience of the main dealers is very mixed, but I found a fantastic indy (Torque RVT in Middlewich, Cheshire) whose enthusiasm matched the good times I've had in the Tam.
To anyone thinking of buying one - do it, but go in with your eyes open. They are not that cheap to run (even with a good specialist) but smiles per mile are exceptional.
Also, this board provides a fantastic resource. Any question answered!
Thank you TVR (especially Tamora) fans.

Sad you are leaving, but sounds like you are making a good choice of new car.
I have to admit that Diane and are are thinking of doing the same, but we are after something rather slower...........A new narrow boat on the canals up north.
Enjoy your Lotus, and visit us on here sometimes to let us know what the new car is like.
