What's on your mod list?

A "what next" comment on one of my previous posts got me to listing the mods I've got planned for the Griff.

Here's my list - what's on yours?
(I know its a bit frivolous but I am seriously interested in the mods other people are planning, just in case anyone else has a great idea I can copy )

Under bonnet heatshield replacement is already underway (with one I recovered from the last Griff ) before the old one finally falls off!

Planned are;
Stainless manifolds and Y piece (waiting for gaskets and fixings)
Replace spark plugs, extenders, HT leads and Dizzy (all ready to go)
AVO shocks (need to collect them first)

Then I will perhaps get to looking at
7" LE type headlight conversion
LED rear lightbulb conversion

Don't fancy doing 2 of the underbonnet heatshields?
Mine's falling off (BV) and it is tatty anyway. Could reglue as short term fix. Note to self - stop spending money!!

I don't mind really Paul. Reckon it won't be too difficult but I'm not looking forward to taking off the bonnet after reading recently about people chipping the edges when doing it.
I'll have a look at the adhesive I've got and see what the cure time is. Perhaps we need a "heat shield" party

Only thing for me at the mo is replace the cubed alloy with a spare that I have and get the old one repaired.
Oh and a new smaller front number plate which after chatting to a few at the Growl helps with cooling.

A few engine mods

For me it's the following

get V8D 5.1 crank assembly put into engine
get engine put into car
fit protech dampers and Steve Heath droplinks

will hopefully be back on the road by the end of September
next will be a roll-bar I think

I've some extra hi temp sheild from Agrimech when I re-stuck my heat sheild and patched a tatty bit using the new stuff. Going to use a bit to do a alternator heat shield (the 1/3 that gets the radiated blast from the manifold (pre-serp)), may do same for friend, but should have a bit left.

Used ACROFLEX GR4545 to reglue, twin part Acrylic adhesive, OK with 130 deg c and cope with 200 deg c intermittent. Not sure how hot it gets under a Griff bonnet, but was the best I could find ! Used 5 * 50ml carts in total !

Managed to scratch wing getting bonnet off car though

Ceramic ACT manifolds for me ..... not for any increase in power - merely to try and help reduce underbonnet temperatures !

Fit my SE mirrors (Corrado)
Sort out none optimal brake bias (big front brakes pulling it too far front)
Fit the new speakers I've got
Fit the Alcantara I have to the doors
Get some locking wheel nuts
Some sort of better plenum (bigger throttle and better trumpets mininum)
Stand alone ECU for fully mappable fuel and ignition (delete airflow metre at the same time)
Fit my mod-wise brighter lights kit (lazy)
Loads of other small things
Get on track!

But once all that's done, I'm finished....oh, apart from a respray!

Get a JE tripple plenum
Fit some bigger injectors if needed(probably will this time)
Change over to using the temp sender on top of the inlet manifold for the coolant temp gauge.
Modify induction hose to 83mm bore throughout
Fit an isolator switch to the heater matrix valve
Try and make the blower fan faster(that'll be a challenge)
Fit heated seats
Fit smoked rear lights
Move the battery!

new trumpets and Act induction kit
polish and paint phlenom , rocker covers and a few other engine bits
silicon water hoses
stainless steel coolant pipes
magnecor leads
new dashboard and steering wheel.

all to be purchased when the wife isn`t looking

Hmmm,

Get some 18" spiders
New carpet set
Fit my new splitter...
Get my spare GKN diff rebuilt and fitted along with the new bushes I have in garage.
Collect and fit my 7" light pods and lamps.
Find a 4.3 motor ( and sell my 4.6 project) and go either megasquirt or emerald.

Oh and a paint job would be nice.........

* Get a better suspension setup without retriggering the suspension debate.
* Try and get my heated seat working again.
* Chrome or polish more things under the bonnet.
* Change fuel lines to braided ones.
* Finish attempting to fix the glovebox catch in a proper manner that doesn't involve blu-tac and wire.
* Delete file on PC where I keep an account of what I have spent on the car.

5.4 engine upgrade and mappable ignition booked yesterday with v8 racing for 12th Sept.
currently looking for a brake upgrade aswell.

sure I'll find something else aswell after this lot
( was going to purchase a Tuscan or T350 but decided to spend money on Griff instead )
