Track day noise ?

Hi.
Can any one help in or around York.

Im booked in for a track day at Croft on the 4th September (BNG),and i beleave the max noise level is 105db.
I've got sports rear pipes with the cats still in, sounds great but im a little concerned that it might not pass the test.
Does anyone have a sound meter that i could maybe borrow or come down to your place to use.

Find local council environmental health office.
Sit outside booting it until some speccy tt comes out.
When he's shouting at you about the reading take a note of the number he spits past you.

I've got a sound meter that you can borrow and I am also in the Yorkshire area. Drop me an email to sort things out. With a sports exhaust and cats you may be ok or just over the limit.

many tracks will test it for you for free. Just call them on a day they have an event on and turn up.

My Cerb also has sports exhaust and measures 108db in between the pops and bangs. The ACT silencers brought it down to 101db. Enjoy your day.

don't suppose anyone knows what the average level is for a decat and a sports zorst and what the legal limit is for road use

Mine with decat & sports zorsts was way over any track, i reckon over 108db. With ACT silencers, it came down to about 104db ( bit too borderline really ).

I've now got decat with standard back box which is fine for circuits with 105db limits, but too much for my local, Donington, which runs at 98db limit, hence my regular use of the ACT cans.

Having said the above, it really does vary depending on so many factors, for example, my back box is beginning to fail internally & the noise is getting more incredible with every 100 miles, dont you just love 'em
