I am moving to the UK and am looking into a project, preferably a RWD. My budget is around 1000 GBP, and the car does not need to run or be MOTd. I basically want to learn to fix a car and to work on one in my spare time and then I might as well learn on something fun, which I'd love to drive once it is fixed. So it doesn't need to be great mechanically, as long as the rust is kept in check I should over time fix the mechanics

Just looking for which old Alfa's would fit the bill and could be squeezed into the budget.

Either a 75 or an Alfetta GTV should be in budget - check the classifieds on Auto Italia's website and you should find a couple.

I have an 75 V6, currently off the road. Very little rust and runs OK. There are a few niggles but not much for an MOT, mainly handbrake/rear brakes, needs new discs and the exhaust to manifold joint leaks. The exhaust is only a couple of years old. Also have a crash damaged one for spares. Starter occasionally clicks but has never let us down. In two years of motoring we only had to have a new water pump. I fitted new Pirrelis when I bought it. I would take £750 for the two cars.
