Petrol leak

Need your help.

Went out in the car today and parked up outside relatives house. Started car up to leave and petrol was pouring out of what I assume is the fuel tank breather hose at the back of the LHR wheel arch. Switched engine off and it was still pouring out. I am guessing the fuel tank was pressurising and allowing this to happen.It eventually stopped and I checked the fuel cap and it looked like the breather hole on the outside was blocked. Put a pin in to clear it and drove home ok. Has this happened to anyone else and am I right with the fuel cap. Hope it does not happen again

No had not just filled up, it had 1/2 a tank of petrol in. Was parked with the nearside on the kerb so it was on a slight angle.
