Deserves a new thread just for this. The difference between Murray Walker and James Allen.

Despite continually getting confused with live action and replays and then saying that the front 2 had lapped everyone else, Murray on todays Grand Prix Masters commentary from Silverstone -

Murray said - "...he held the belief of 'They shall not pass' just like the Maginot line..."

The Maginot line being the fortification built by France after WWI to keep the Germans out of France and stealing all their cheese. Unfortunately Murray was using this commentary to describe Hans Stuck's defence from Alex Caffi, Hans is a dual national. Austrian & German....... oh dear Murray

At least he demonstrates some knowledge of matters beyond F1.

Allen seems to have no references stored in his head other than those gleaned from current pit lane gossip.

When was today's GP Masters coverage on and on which channel? I can't find any mention of it on DigiGuide. First scheduled coverage I can see is on Motors TV in 2 weeks' time.

Set your DVD/Video recorder to Sky Sports 3 for 3am till 5am as that is their 2nd repeat of the day.

It was originally on Sky Sports 2 at 12:30pm till about 2:30pm. Then was repeated again at 4/5pm

Damn. I was just about to delete Sky Sports from my package as we never watch it.

Don't worry - you didn't miss much. I am SO glad I didn't make the journey to Silverstone to watch - unless of course you derive pleasure from watching a bunch of mainly has-beens floundering around. And as for our Nige - topped his past antics this time!

I thought Murray Walkers commentary was really embarrassing.
