Right. Got it. I'd forgetten how uncomfortable, how loud, and how tiring these 500s are. And how much fun. Feel like I'm king of the road again!!
But to business.. if anyone can shed any light on the following I'd be very grateful. Expect I'll be posting a load of questions over the next few weeks as I use the car more, but for now............
1. I'm not as lanky as the previous owner.. with the seat fully forward it's still a slight stretch to get to the pedals. Wasnt like this with my last one. Are the pedals adjustable ?
2. Tyre pressure were a bit all over the place. From memory, 34 front, 30 rear. That about right? SO3s all round, standard 500 wheels.
3. Need to restick the hear shielding under the bonnet. Evostivk OK or will that fail due to high heat?
4. Hmmm hot starting.... my old one did sometimes struggle til I changed the starter motor & battery. This one, zilch. Totally refuses, doesnt even try, until the 2 fans turn for a couple of minutes then cease. As soon as that happens, starts on the button. Was a little worrying at the fuel services yesterday.. nice little queue formed behind me, and nice little bead of perpiration formed on my brow too.
5. what's the black goo around the headlamp covers? I assume same stuff for fixing those little rubber corners at the top corners of the doors... fixed on OK just want to tidy it up a bit.
Phew.. that's all for now. Have spent a good few hours behind the wheel since Saturday afternoon & enjoyed a couple of 'full welly' 3rd gear moments when no-ones watching. FANTASTIC!

1. clutch and brake are adjustable. You need a couple of 13mm spanners IIRC.
2. I run less pressure than that, but can't remember exactly. (I think mid 20s)
3. Evostik is no good with the temperatures. The Dunlop impact glue used for fixing the hood should be OK.
4. They all do that sometimes... Mine's done it once in 2+ years, so I don't worry too much.
5. Sikaflex. However black silicone sealant works as a temporary measure.

The tyre pressures seem way too high but do vary with different tyres. As previously stated, mine are 22 and 24 but it's worth doing a search for the pressures recommended for the tyres you have.
I've just bought some heat shield adhesive, but I can't remember what it is now. I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know. There are a few threads on here discussing it and I think Steve Heath even says in the bible that no-more-nails works!
Sikaflex 291 - and it's expensive at about £11.50 a tube. Try your local boat chandlery, it gets used on boats a lot and if they don't have it they will get it for you.

Accelerator also adjustable but more fiddly - have to make the adjustment where the cable is mounted I think. Adjusting the pedals was the single adjustment that made the biggest difference to me when I got my Griff, especially if you twist the brake one round to help with heel and toe.
Tyre pressure uncomfortable high without a doubt, reducing to 22/24 will help a lot.
The Modwise hot start kit takes 30 minutes to fit, not hard to do at all and only £20.
If you've got bits of rubber trim coming loose, you may want to check the bottom of the windscreen surround which gets very hot and detaches, thereby leaking water onto your ECU, heater controls etc. The usual motor factor black sealent works very well to cure that.
