noisy cams on a 33 ?

I seem to have a tapping from one cam on my alfa 33 1.7i.e. the thing is that ive recently change both cams and tappets and still no joy. there was significant wear on one side whereas the other side was practically untouched. please help im struggling to find the cause

Which camshaft was worn? If the one on the driver side was badly worn, but the one on the passenger side was fine, that may indicate that it's spent a large amount of time being run without a genuine Alfa Romeo oil filter which is a big no no with the flat fours.
