1000 miles of Griff testing (aka a holiday)

We've just returned from our first holiday in the Griff. First stop was the Growl, then up to Lincoln, York, the Lakes, Bristol and finally back home.
This was the first major test of the new ECU, coils, injectors, wiring etc - and my installation & mapping of these.
Nic took out Green Flag cover just to be sure we wouldn't be stranded anywhere (the last time we tried to use the car for a long run, the fuel pressure regulator failed and we set fire to the wadding in the exhaust...)
This time, the car behaved perfectly. And even looked clean and tidy after Mike from the Polishing company worked some magic on it!
I got a chance to optimise the mapping for motorway cruising and a few other things that are difficult at home. The result is at least a 5 mpg increase in fuel economy, better throttle response and a smooth drivable car - Much better than on the way to the Growl. Best fuel economy was 30mpg while driving like an
on the M6 (and being stuck in lots of traffic), worst was 23 - involving a lot of roundabouts & acceleration 
) Before the mods, the car did about 16 mpg and felt a bit "dead".
No power figures yet due to technical difficulties at the Growl.

The list of things to do is now much shorter than it was, but there's a long way to go before the car is perfect. Maybe next year?
