Recently the amount of miles between fill ups seems to getting be smaller and smaller, I've not done the maths yet I'll work that out between the next to fill ups but any ideas as to what could be causing a reduction in 'economey'?
I've had a poke around and can't see anything obvious amiss, the stepper motors had a clean and it's still running the same as it ever has it just seems the petol gauge has a magnetic draw to the left, and no there aren't any petroly puddles under the car in the morning

Could it be you are getting more and more used to the car? (don't know how long you've had it). Bit earlier on the gas coming out of corners here, bit harder on the acceleration there. Feathering the loud pedal to get the pops and bangs?
Only a thought.

Had the thing nearly 4 years now and I can't say I'm driving it any different to how I was 6 weeks ago,

Mine started drinking big time (average 11mpg over 2 tanks in normal driving), had a lambda sensor replaced at the last service and things seem to have improved (like it doesn't go from completely full to empty in 135 miles)

It better not be the lambda's again, had them changed about a two years ago, when they went last time it was kicking out huge clouds of black smoke and I've not got that this time

I'd blame "global workming" as the Earth is warming it is also expanding, as a result the distance from A to B is increasing giving you the apparent impression that you are now using more fule to do similar journeys, what do you reckon? have I sussed it? Rich...

One of the lambda's on mine was also replace 2 years ago, apparently when they fail the ecu goes in to some safe mode and ends up overfueling. Get someone to plug the diagnostic tool into the ecu to see if there are any fault codes... Good luck with it.

Huge difference in my car between branded petrol and supermarket stuff, Optimax the best, full tank around 250 miles compared with supermarket Hooch of 190 miles a tank.

Consistant petrol brand for the last 6 months (Esso) but different stations, funnily enough my car is the 0.01% that hates Optimax I get about 5mpg on the stuff and it runs like a bag of nails
Like the earth expansion idea the best so far
