things always seem to come in threes , or more!
at a session at Austec on saturday, needed a new lambda sensor fitted and recomended to fit a bosch coil, okay, but found the price today, as no-one in the office at austec on saturday, and the lambda sensor is a whopping £130 + vat
so my total from them is going to be getting on for £300 ish, not grumbling about the service, just surprised at the sensor price.
stripped down the front nearside hub this evening to replace the wheel bearing, and also find that the top ball jiont is knackered,so hopefully nothing else will happen for a while, oh, and not forgetting having the tracking and camber angle rechecked after I`ve put the hub and bits back together, oh, an 2 new tyres on the back as well.

just as well that I can console myself with a good blat when its finished, and the grin ALWAYS outwieghs the cost

My Chimaera failed it's MOT last September due to high emissions caused by screwed lambda sensors. Got 2 of them for around £75 each (all in) from a Landrover source on-line and arranged to have them sent directly to the indie garage. Passed.

It's always financially worth sourcing your own parts- as I've found previously with a clutch, starter motor and gear box (the gear box came from a TVR written-off at 10k miles- my car is nearing 80+k!).

You should have said... I have a spare coil you could have had.

The sensor price frightened me too. One of the reasons I put the aftermarket ECU in there - it didn't cost much more than 2 standard lambda sensors.
