Hi,

I've been looking at F430's and have a few questions.

1. I noticed on the UK site that some of the cars are referred to as 'Ferrari F430 Europa'. What does the Europa mean??

2. Also has anybody changed from 997 to F430 and what is your opinion after the intial 'honeymoon' period? Would you do it again?

3. How much do you think a F430 will depreciate over the next 2-3 years? The cars I am looking at are circa. £135k - what will it be worth in 3 years time?

4. What's the best deal around to finance the car. I would be looking to put down around £60k deposit and then pay monthly repayments with a balloon at the end. What sort of APR should be I getting? Anybody know roughly what the figures would be?

5. Anybody know if it would be possible to get a new F430 in the next 6 months at list price? i.e. any dealers with cancelled slots or cars?

6. F1 or manual?? I would have always taken manual before the 430 but the manual cars seem a little more 'dated' now and I think F1 will be much more desirable come trade in time?

Thanks!

Wolvy

This Europa thing is just something which Ferrari are using to standardise the terminology worldwide

All UK cars will be Europa cars, it distinguishes them from the US cars which have no launch control and have limited ability to disable traction etc

They just do..look at the sales numbers. However, I am with you on this. For me a sports car MUST be manual.. end of!! Maybe it's an age thing ... I'm 43!! My Passat is an auto as it's a slush car but my next sports car will definately have 3 pedals and a gearstick!!

2 ways of looking at it I think.

Either buyers want to think they're getting F1 technology, so they opt for the paddle shift

or

Buyers want the cachet of owning a Ferrari, but the driving convenience of driving an auto.

Personally, I'd have a manual. Like F1, the more the technology does, the duller the driving experience - not matter how clever it is!

You are old fashioned

I really can't understand why any of you would choose the manual car over the F1, but I guess everyone to their own
