Insurance time again

It's that time of the year again for me, I have had my insurance renewal from Classicline. They want £247, thats for 5000 miles and breakdown cover. I called RH Specialist who quoted £220 but there is a clause stating I need a Thatcham 2 alarm and imobiliser, I know I have an alarm, but have no idea if it's 'Thatcham 2' or if there's an imobiliser, all I know is there's a black box under the bonnet and you switch it on with the key fob!
Not sure what to do, as it's £27 cheaper.
Any ideas, or any other companies I can try?

I am with RH and they will want to see an installation certificate for the CAT 2 so considering your not sure what you have then I doubt you have a cert so for the sake of £27 and assuming classicline are not insisting on the same thing then I would go with them.

Go back to classicline and tell em you got a cheaper quote, they will match it if they can, they will want to see a copy of the quote after matching it just to ensure you aint fibbing to em.

I love insurance quotes. When I first tried to insure my S I approached all the usual mainstream insurers Direct Line, Chruchil, etc. The quotes I got back just couldnt be repeated and neither could my answer but ti rhymes with Clucking Bell. They even had the cheek to scoff at me when I went back and said what a great deal I had got from Classicline like I was lying. Ahhh fond memories.

I have just renewed with Norwich Union after being with ClassicLine for years. They do a new policy called 'Collectors Car' which includes £150 excess, RAC cover and spare parts cover, which covers all car parts you may have in the garage. I got the whole lot for £205 which is £42 less than ClassicLine!!
