Brakes upgrade...suggestions please

No need to change size IMHO. EBC Dimple & Groove. Red stuff Pads.

If you are staying with the same size discs and calipers, I changed to grooved discs from black diamond with pads and cost me about £300. bought via Need for Speed on the net.

Agree, I just changed to Mintex M-Tech discs and pads and changed fluid to 5.1. I then gave the complete brake system inspection / service / clean and brakes have been far better and survived a few track days. Changing fluid at regular intervals helps immensely.

Where did you guys get your metal braided hoses from, are they availible as a set for the chimera, or were they made to length.

As i hate brake fluid (always ends up everywhere happily stripping off any paintwork)I got Peninsula to do it. Its only a simple task so any local garge can do it. Takes about an hour in labour on top of the price of the parts.
As for where to get them give Richard at Dulford Autos a call (ex Peninsula)

Mine are BF Goodridge and came as a set when I ordered some EBC disks and pads, think they were about £45.

Del's brakes are fab, but I wouldn't go R888's as you drive in the wet. Excellent in te dry but would imagine hairy at best in the wet (especially last Sunday - needed a boat not a car).

Herbert here I have them er Brake discs and pads along with braided hoses and dot 5.1 . Now my brakes where getting pretty poor adn one of my pistons was sticking as the rubber had split ( oo err ) and one pad had a great chunk missing something to do with not be used enough over the last year and the hoon down to LeMons.
More than happy with them, they are a vast improvement and more than enough for me and fast road use hard braking.

All my disks were on last legs went for 300mm willwood 4pots and new rear disks groupe n rear all ford uprated sprint / hillclimbe pads 5.1fluid and braided hose. o my god what a difference could possibly do with a balancr valve. Rally designe about £800 i think.will never sell so worth every penny.
