We have a WSUS server which pushes out the latest updates to all our machines across three sites. Every time a set of updates go out, 4 or 5 (out of about 400) users get logged in under new profiles the following morning. It seems to be entirely random as to who gets the new profiles and it's a pain for us because we have to copy all the data across into the new profile, do all the user settings etc.

Why does this happen? I've never seen it happen when the updates are applied manually. It's happened pretty much every time we've sent out updates from the WSUS server. There appears to be no correlation between OS (2000/XP) or user group etc. Is there any (easyish) way I can force the login to go to a specific profile? Or is there something I can do before the patches are pushed out to stop the new profiles being created?
