fuel tank sender unit
Discussion
It's not that difficult to remove.
David Gerald has or had the sealing ring (steel) and rubber seals..
but we don't know of any suppliers of the sender..
There was a thread on here a while back where someone fixed a sender with copper wire from another sender - obtained from a breakers..

That would be me then, tried all over for a new sender but no joy so did a rewind with the wire from a mini sender unit works OK now, not perfect but OK.
Are you sure its the sender unit ??
Which kind is it ?? the ring fitting one or the one with the 6/8 bolt fixing ??
HP do you love it yet ??

You can also replace the bulkhead bearing as detailed on the tvrwedgepages.
This worked OK on our 350 evn though it had a height adjustable column with a triangular cross-section shaft (Ford I think). The vertices of the shaft are rounded and the grub screws on the bearing are nicely placed at 120 degrees to clamp up onto two of them. The height adjustment still works as we put 0.4mm thick washers between the faces of the clamp plates which allows the bearing outer to swivel in the clamps while still holding it tight enough.

...I find small post-it notes with the last three digits of the mileometer stuck up above the gauge...
Dont they blow away
Occasionally, depending on how heavy my foot is feeling
However, my fuel gauge is to the right of the steering wheel so I can't really see the guage anyway
