Are the sixes that bad?

Still continuing my research. There are a number of Cerbera sixes around at very reasonable money, but judging by comments on this list in the past some of these cars seem to have had some terrible problems. Are they realy that bad, or should I be looking at them along with the V8s? I'm not too bothered by any power difference BTW (wuss that I am)

Who's arguing, ive closed you down every time youve tried to prevoke me, i dont see that pointing someone to the s6 forum who is asking for s6 advice as bad advice! I bet you also have to have the last word aswell

The definitive Cerbera has to be a V8. However, the Cerbera Speed Six was - before the new gen Sagaris/Tuscan II - the NICEST TVR to drive daily IMHO. In normal day to day driving you'd not notice much performance difference TBH and the Six is way, way smoother than the Eights so they are nicer to drive at sane speeds.
Cerbera Speed Sixes are an overlooked bargain IMHO. Expect the worst (total engine rebuild) but hope for the best and you won't be disappointed. If you do end up in a rebuild situation there is lots of knowledge/choice to get it done really well these days.
Prices have settled to accommodate 'the worst' outcome so you can't really go wrong unless you're stretching yourself to acquire a cheap Cerbera S6. But stretching yourself to buy ANY Cerbera is foolish. They cost money to run but the fun they give back is worth every last penny.
