Eating my way round Britain

As usual I've been trying to think of an excuse for driving around the country.
While stuffing my face with Pontefract cakes, I decided to find as many places as possible with a local delicacy, then plan a summer tour to sample each in it's own home town.
Eccles cake, Bakewell tart, Dundee cake, Bath bun and Chelsea bun have already been mentioned. The list of Cheeses must be lengthy.
Any suggestions welcomed......

you could try the "stuffed stottie" - a bread cake 12" or more in diameter cut in half filled with the contents of an average fry up (baked beans as well!) only ever come across these in and around newcastle. For futher info you could see Big Billy at Big Billy's Bait Box on benton park road, four lane ends, newcastle - heart attack in a bun for £1.50. Mmmmmmmm
