................gets a good spanking!

I'd love this to be one of you guys! Blue 996 911 C4S, heading West from Oxford 1830 tuesday.

This is the first time I've met a 911 on the road being driven in the way it should! It felt like i was being stalked out of Oxford, I tried a bit of nipping through the traffic to get some space before the duel carriageway. But within 100 yards he was stalking me

I never expected to feel like I still had the handbrake on at a certain speed but that's what if felt like, maybe I should have had the roof up LOL...

If you're on here, top shout fella! I could see you pi55ing yourself behind me, but I ran out of go-go

Nice to see a friendly driver around these parts and boy do i want a C4S

Matty

C4s is slow and portly too!

a c2 with the 3.6 sports pipes, race cats and good induction would have been even worse!

the C4s is carrying about 100kgs plus of weight with the 4wd system. do look nice though!

the 911 really pulls hard in 3rd and 4th in the high revs and that is where the boxster loses out!

ps just kidding on the C4S as it is a lovely car but never been a fan of 4wd on a 911. 2wd has lots of grip as is!!

I always thought the C4S had more power than the C2!?!

If only I had the roof up, that would have been good for another 5 mph

I remember thinking my S2000 was a quick motor, until on the same road I met a HSV Holden and watched it vanish into the distance

There is something so cool about watching someone use the power and given it beans, all under the right conditions and controlled of course.......

As a road car the C4S is only eclipsed by the turbo I realy mis my C4S the noise is far better than the GT3 and on the road the C4S ? Turbo Damping is much better however on track days the GT3 is Sooo much quicker.

At least for 997 the C4S and C2S have identical engines/power (3.8l/355bhp).

The non-S versions (ie. C4 and C2) have smaller engines/power (3.6l/325bhp).

I did have the PSE it make a much better noise than the GT3 which is all induction and gearbox noise I would like to fit a PSE on the GT3 but I will wait and see I have done 5000 miles since Le Mans and am very happy with it I just miss the noise

Nearly - 996 Facelift = 3.6l =320BHP
First 996 = 3.4l = 300bhp

driven many 911s and owned a Boxster S - not a great deal of difference performance wise but mid range torque noticeably stronger on cooking 911s, on road bunfights would come down to road familiarity and drive skill/recklessness rather than car performance IMHO

DO IT! I've got PSE on mine and it really sounds the dogs b*llocks. Only caveat is 101-103db static depending on conditions, although I always forget to clutch in. Drive by is no problem at places even like Bedford and Castle Combe.

Hi adrian I am thinking about it but also an early LHD 997RS is tempting me its pointles doing it if I dont keep the car for more than a couple of months.
out of interest is your PSE an OEM porsche fit and if so is it swichable to get 101 static or is that how it is? The reason I ask is windows up aircon off clutch down I already get 102 on a standard exhaust.
Who fitted yours?

Mine was fitted by the PO (or it could have been the dealer I bought it from) although it is an OEM Porsche part. It's not switchable, and the neighbours complain in the mornings!

I always 'fogot' to swich off as i left the garage which was bad as the noise from cold was always the loudest.
