Searched a few threads, but found nothing conclusive. The car is an S2, it will be used for general road use only and I will be fitting them myself. So can you guys recommend;

a) make of shock, source, part no
b) spring poundage front and rear, source, part no.
c) prices for the above

Thanks

I tried Gas Spax and AVOS and hated them, plus they stopped working and fell apart. I also tried Tower View Gaz shocks were quite nice (but a bit pricey for what they are to be honest), not tried LEDAs but had good reports, I'm now running Nitrons which cost a lot but are absolutely superb. Also driven a different car on Ohlins, again very nice but didn't feel particularly better than the Nitrons in my limited hands. (A proper racing driver would probably notice the difference.)

Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)

Have just fitted Tower View Gaz shocks and springs all round on my S2. This is certainly an easy and flexible option as they come assembled ready to fit. Adjustable damping (preset) by Tower View and ride height adjustable. Haven't really run these long enough to give a good opinion but I did fit the same to the rear of an S1 and was very happy with them. My usage is normal road use only and I haven't tried any other makes but in both cases they are a lot better than the Konis/tired springs(?) they replaced. Cost wise they are not cheap at around £650 +p&p.
Hope that helps
Chris P.

AVO's with 20% increase in spring rate.

Very pleased with them, just had them long enough to give em some stick & they are superb. Took me a while to get the settings correct by trial & error.

Thanks for the input guys.

Nitrons may be a bit much for me, but the Tower View stuff seems to rate well on here. £650 is a bit pricey and it's a bit of a cheek I know, but do you have the seperate part no.s for the springs and shocks Chris?

Andy,
You won't need part numbers just phone up and they will know exactly what you're after. I've just checked out the invoice and all up with a set of mounting bolts and including p&p it was just short of £700.
Chris.

Thanks Chris

I was wondering wether to source the parts separately elsewhere and then assemble them myself. Might be cheaper?

I ran some LEDAs on a griff and didn't rate them. I've since found out they're very variable on the dyno so maybe the builds aren't to a very tight standard?

There are no obvious part numbers on either the shocks or the invoice so I'm afraid I can't help. The only other stockist of Gaz shocks I looked at was Burtons and broadly speaking their prices didn't look any cheaper. Trading any minor benefit in cost against being supplied ready assembled and with a good base setting and supplied by a TVR specialist Tower View seemed the best bet.
