Gentlemen - ditch your steering wheels!
Discussion
...and replace your Clapham Omnibus special with a 340mm TechArt 3 spoker - it's bloody
!!!
Total transformation of the beastie's feel giving a real sense of extra focus and solidity (sort of a cross between Domster's Baron rouge unt ein Audi RS sommat or other - spiffing; abso-bleedin-lutely whizz bang!)
Just blasted doon a certain permutation of regional urban routes and I thought I was Walter Rhorl!
This is EXACTLY why the 911 can be SOoo incredible.
WWWwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!
(The only problem is that I now apparently need a shotgun licence to store my original wheel and a corresponding steel cupboard?
what the hell do the authorities think someone's gowna do with a bloody airbagged steering wheel - charge up The Mall, demanding constitutional reform or Liz gets it on the noggin with an inflatable cushion? Comme ludicrous.)

Shotguns certificates are easy to get hold of, nip down to your local plod station, make sure you ask for a 'SHOTGUN CERTIFICATE', don't go for a firearms license there's no point and you'll need to get loads of referees IIRC.
Then you'll have a firearms orifficor come round to your house to ask some questions and see where you'll be keeping the gun........as soon as you tell him it's for your steering wheel he'll go....."what!", just tell him the situation and if you have no intention of buying a gun then you should have your certificate pretty soon.
Oh and my cabinet is coach bolted to a concrete floor.
Just out of interest, did you order the Techart jobbie from Techart themselves?

Cheers Graham.
Not got a shotgun specifically but do blunderpae count?
Btw, wheel came direct to Tech9 from TechArt this AM so I was over there quicksticks!
Had a rather dangerous conversation with a couple of the guys, in particular the issue of realistic power hiking.
I think 550 bhp is back on the agenda. Oh bugger.

Out of the MANY companies I emailed about becoming a Test Driver, Techart were the only ones to reply and were the basis of making me buy my Westfield and starting racing. So I have alot of time for the Techart boys and wouldn't hesitate moving to Germany to Test Drive with them.
Erm, whats blunderpae???
Edited to add: Got any pics of the new wheel on, Der??

Is it that one Der??
Found it here.
Jawhol!
Oh and Clubster - I cannot overemphasize how different the drive now feels - I'm far more 'at one' with the whole thing...I think even the angle of the wheel is a bit changed...I love it, I love it, I love it!!!
The only thing I don't like about the set up now is the user friendly clutch; way too light & spongy - makes the bite points less than 100% precise - a racing clutch c/o the 550 mod should help that though!
God, I hope it doesn't freeze for the Gumball home ce soir!
Good good, the colour scheme is not to my taste, I'm with you, all black
We had a purple 964 come in when I was on work experience and the interior was purple and black, same as the steering wheel and dial surrounds......
That attracted the most attention and had the technicians in fits of laughter.
They also tried to work out what the chrome rack on the rear of a Boxster S was for, but we wont go into that on here
Edit: Who' doing the 550bhp upgrade, is that Techart again?!

Cheers Paul - I shall have a butchers and report back...I used to think 550 was the limit but from what I heard today, 600 might not be unexploitable...
As one of the chaps was saying to me, having uber power requires an excessively focussed driving style, where sensuous caressing of the wheel and progressively feeding in Belgian chocolats, sorry power were prerequisites; I like the concept of knowing you have all that poke but equally having to be circumspect with it's dispensation...a bit like driving an Ultima, I suppose!
And then, every so often, you squeeeeze the throttle, exacting a little moan of ecstacy from your tiny pool of automotive self-cognoscance and Vito Max man is dispatched with gleeful disdain...
Oh for a stretch of deserted Black Forest 'bahn, this instant!
