Is there an adjustment out there to get the seat closer to the pedals or are there after market pedals that will allow my girlfriend to drive the car without a cushion behind her......you understand she will only drive it when i have had far too much to drink....otherwise she has no chance!! Ha!

Yes but it's a spanner job, not the sort of task you want to be doing in a pub carpark. The pedals are mounted with adjustable threaded bar. You could consider seeing if there was a compromise position that both of you could use. Otherwise it's platform shoes.

If adjusting the standard pedals doesn't work - talk to Dave Batty at 'The Garage' near Guildford - he got my 5'1" wife comfortable driving my Chim without her having to resort to wearing 6" cloggs or fitting those Leven extendable pedals.

I have the same problem, trying to reach the pedals in my Dads & BF Nobles. Think they were designed with men in mind!

Must think we are too dangerous to be let loose, behind the wheel on our own.

Also if the seat rails have moved slightly you may not be getting full travel on the seat. Other than that you could always fit some small blocks of wood to the pedals rather than her feet.

I'm 5'5" with relatively short legs. I'm fine in the Alfa but then they were notoriously designed with short*rses in mind. I once test-drove a Porsche 968 Sport, which has no seat height adjustment, and that was awful for me. Is this likely to be a problem for me in a Chim, or should I be able to make a permanent adjustment with a spanner?

For those of you who encouraged me to buy a Chim tomorrow... I've nearly made the decision I'm going to go for one, I've had an offer from a local PHer to go and have a butchers at his (thanx Colin, I'll give you a ring shortly), I think I just need to blag a testdrive from someone. I have decided the Alfa isn't fast enough (or, to put it another way, I'm fed up having to overtake in 2nd) and a Chim seems to be bloody good value on a bangs-for-your-bucks basis.

I have the same issue, missus is 5'5 and im no giant at 5'10! In the end got the Leven fully adjustable set for less than a ton if I remember correctly - did the business. Well worth the expense........

Hi, agree the Leven Pedals do the trick, but always used it as a good excuse for the girlfriend not driving the TVR!!

We had a Chim before the Tam and my wife is 4ft 11in

She did the following:

Bought the adjustable "long" pedals from Leven Technology
Bought a factory made seat bolster (from a dealer - special order)that goes over that back of the seat, moving the person about 3-4 inches forward and up slightly. This was OK for the seat squab as this is quite deep anyway so still supported the backs of the knees. If the factory do not do this anymore, then KRJ trimmers in Middlewich will probably be able to do this. I can give you the name of the person (after I have e-mailed him for permission) who bought our car if there are any measurements/patterns needed

With the bolster removed, the pedals were fine for me with the seat 3 quarters of the way back and I am 5ft 11in

Other methods are spacers on/under the seat runners - a dealer/good indie will do this for you, along with the Leven stuff
