Hi,

my 2000 Tusc S ha no splitter on the front. Is it easy to get one fitted and are they really needed or only for show? (do they really improve stability?)

Got mine here:
TVR Casoli Tel: 0208 440 5555. Front spoiler in carbon fibre £280, in GRP £150, rear spoiler (GRP only) - unpainted £175.
(2004 prices)
- you have to buy the mounting arms as well. TVR won't sell it to non-S owners... (Casoli sourced for me)
- 10% more stable at speed, I would say.
- Much better look

Well if it was made in 2000 then it is not an S. So that is why. The S was released mid-late 2001.

I would not bother fitting one, unless you are really doing sustained high speed driving, and even then in theory it should be fitted in conjunction with the rear spoiler. Or maybe you just like the looks of it!!

Beware it is not just a bolt on piece, it also has a separate metal frame that should be fitted to strengthen it inside the grill, some people dont bother with this bit and hence they break off at speed.

I bought my Tusc from James Agger, as a Tuscan S. Its history was a prototype car, used by Blackpool to test out all proposed mods upon. This was also pointed out by James A when i bought it.
It is a RR engine, all mods , upgraded brakes, larger exhausts etc and Dom at TVR power confirms it is a Tuscan S. Who am I to argue. It certainly goes some and has all levels of new instrumentation etc on it. New style rear brake light, etc.

I have spoke to the TVR Factory who confirm it is an S and was used as a prototype vehicle, for use for the above.

Anyway, who cares, I luv it, and I think the spoiler looks damn good, but will take your advice and have it fitted properly, probably same time I get Nitrons fitted.

Cheers

Dave

ah so it's a pre-production/early factory special S ! Cool!

In that case I would definitely fit the front spoiler so it looks "right".

Easy, I have shiny nuts!

It's a spring-loaded bracket that holds the number plate, which are interchangeable between my two cars. Over here you insure the "number plate" - just means less insurance and road tax to pay! Whichever car is on the road gets the plates. Tuscan always wins in the dry of course.

brilliant that seams like a sensible idea.... why can't the uk government be so logical!?!??!

your wheels (not nuts) are very shiny, do you wax / polish them? what do you use?

thanks

ah...I think I'd just given them a good clean because the Tuscan was on show in the British Car Meeting Hadn't used a particularly special product though..

Ticker - your Tuscan already having the rear spoiler and obviously being an S, have you checked underneath centre/forward for the metal bar sticking through the body? Could well be there already which would mean the front spitter will be an easy job to do.
