Just fitted the JP exhaust last night...... stunning!! Went for a spin through Newcastle and thought I would head for the big market (a-level results day ). Didn’t notice the two big police mounted horses until about 30ft away and took foot off the gas as I always slow for horses (unlike cats, where I speed up). Just wondering is their a decibel limit on public roads like their is on track days, and if so has anyone been caught??

I've never had any issues with my Chimaera around Newcastle and thats quite loud, I always back off a little when the BiB are about though. It's got a sleeved exhaust and no pre-cats and scored well at last years BNG noise test, and still went through the MOT at HHC.

I think the noise limits are applicable to motorbikes only, the only problem with cars comes when they are deemed anti-social.

Yea, watch out for those jealous neibourghs. I have a jealous aggressive balding Tcensoredt who lives up my road who complains about the noise of my Tiv, and thats without a sports exhaust.

I was careful when I put it away in the garage at 10.30pm last night, think I might have to free wheel for the last 30 meters !! I love it though.... I'm at work wanting to go and drive now !! Its like when I first got it again !!

i like my neighbours and they all love the car so I tend to freewheel (live on a hill) down to my garage so I keep them sweet!

I must admit I do like the colour of your Tamoracool , and have a nice picture of it parked next to my Tamora at Gaydon on the 18th June.

i personally think that the performance of the car should have a nice sound to it.so when i had my chimaera we decided to be slightly differnt and have the sports exhaust done(baffles removed) and that popped and banged real nice but when i had my tam it was completly differnt.it was standard so couple of weeks later just before the tunnel run i thought this is the time to have the supersports exhausts and boy did i love it.pops and bangs more then the chimaera did and louder.then i decided to be differnt again and have the cats shaved to decats and boy is the performance and noise differnt.dan

Have a JP sports exhaust on my Tam and absolutely love the sound of it. Very deep pops and bangs. The old man has a sports exhaust on his Tuscan but don't think it sounds anywhere near as good as the JP

well actually i dont have any cats but if you heard mine you would sh!t your self.after hearing my dad drive away when we went to asda charity day at brunthingthorpe aerodrome.it was like the loudest there.it was a great day out.he got told off twice because of not short shifting and bein quite.he even scared a tuscan owner after overtaking a 4.2 cerb with supersports exhausts and decats(was no where near as loud as my dads lol)on the 1st corner after the cerb was infront.the take off noise and the pops and bangs are louder then a cerbs but not as much.but this is a defo move if you like noise from a speed 6.dan

Totally agree, gets better the hotter it gets, i read on another thread that the Sport exchaust doesn't sound as good when it gets hot ??

'Fraid I totally disagree with that statement. The hotter it gets the better it sounds. The pops and bangs are more frequent and are somehow deeper and louder. To drive to my beloved London Welsh Rugby club takes 1 minute... so I go for a drive down the M3 to get the thing warmed up properly so when I pull in the pops and bangs are at their best! Sad eh? nerd

Not at all because the JP does the same. I think they both are very good exhausts. Going on a run on Sept 16th through Durham so will be able to compare then
