Just been spammed by a company that will remain nameless, no idea why or how they got my email address unless it's from years back. It's a general bulk email text saying "we have lots of jobs" etc...."If you would like to learn more about potential opportunities then please send me your updated CV with salary expectations to find out what new and exciting role could be yours!" Ah the old to hell with what you are doing our only sifting criteria is the salary. Yes we all know that one rolleyes

Then this bit really got me.

If you are not currently looking then apologies but feel free to send us your updated CV for our records, stating that at present you are not available.

Send a CV to you even if I'm not looking for a job? Since you have no idea of who I am or what I am doing I don't think I'm going to send you my personal details, god knows where they will end up or what they will be used for.

I had a call today from an agency that I gave my CV to 5 years ago. They had a job similar to the one I had 5 years ago. Explained that I am now an executive at my company and my salary had gone up 3 fold. They soon got the idea!
