Shoei Helemet and SIDI Boots.

You should be able to pick up an XR1000 for less than that (unless you want a replica paintjob). I paid £200 for a plain white one (and then had my own paint-job done). Try eBay.
Good helmet, by the way, if a little noisy. First Shoei I've owned, and prefer it to my old Arai RX7 for half the price.

I got a XR1000 Kagayama Red for £260 for Bikegear in Bridgend.

I was looking at the SIDI Vertigo Tepor boots, for £160'ish, Catso where did you get your set?
Ebay is your friend, ebay seller 'Bikersdirect'; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/bikersdirect paid £178.99, obviously you need to know your size etc. and the boots are a small fit and quite narrow in the leg, at least compared to my old A'stars.
