No explanation needed I don't think!













I made it as I don't like having the sat nav stuck to the windscreen. It wobbled like mad and also obstructed the view somewhat. I wanted to make a sat nav mount that was removable too and wouldn't leave any "tell tale" signs, hence the plastic disk that just spins out of its mount when not needed. Also didn't want to make any visable holes in the vinyl.

Should help a bit with my European jaunt next month!

I don't think there is an ariel on the TomTom, certainly not an external one anyway. Must just be built in.

Will try it out over the weekend and see if the glare is any better. If not, the next job will be a little canopy made from a washing up liquid bottle! :-)

Now I was thinking about a similiar project but to mount the Tom Tom in the glove compartment. Have to drive about with the lid open but hey ho.

Cool - I made some roof bars for the astra estate. Aly square tube and 4 U bolts. Total cost: #12.50 (as opposed to 150 quid for horrible Vauxhall ones, and I bet they have crappy plastic ends)

Hi Adam,

I'm not sure if he's still looking for one or not. Snetterton was the first time I had met him, and I think he was hoping to save some money up and then purchase one next year. Haven't seen him since, although I've not really been to any events anyway. I'm sure he will enter into the fold in due course!

And yeah, you should supercharge the P4...

That is rather a neat way of mounting the satnav, it gives me an idea...
Still having the girlfriend reading a map works until it talks back at you and tells you to do it your self
