Hi,

The alarm just went off while my car was parked in the garage, nobody near it.
When I arm the alarm the indicators flash twice then after a brief pause the lights around the door switches on the dash start to flash for approx 5 seconds. During this time the indicators will start to flash again - they seem to flash for a random time, anything from 1 flash to flashing for a minute or more. The flash rate is quite fast, certainly faster than when arming the alarm.

Anyone had this before or can suggest what to look for ?

Car was washed this morning so I guess water somewhere but I can't see any inside the car but I'm not too sure where I should be looking.

Thanks for any help
Paul

Check a few things..

Air vents should be closed.. anything hanging that might 'sway' around like air freshnerns.. cables from phones, sat navs etc..

If all this fails then you need to adjust the microwave adjuster under the centre tunnel.. Its a horrible job.

On my to do list - the neighbours hate me 'caus eit keeps going off..

Had exactly this several times before I fixed it - never since.

Mine was small amount of water dripping down onto alarm ecu in left-hand side of passenger footwell behind carpeting (which can just be pulled back) if parked facing uphill when I washed it, or during heavy rain, though you'd never see water in the main footwell area! The leak was inaccessible, so I re-mounted the ecu upside down so any odd drips wouldn't travel into it down the wires. Fine in heavy rain etc ever since.

Thanks for the replies.
It seems to be more stable now. The flashing of the indicators is now correct so at least I can now lock the doors with the alarm disabled which I couldn't before (alarm falsely triggers if enaled).
My drive is on a up hilll slope so it sounds like water.
I'll check out the alarm ecu tomorrow.

Thanks again.
