I have a real problem figuring what the weather will be doing in the next 10 min which is the reaction time of my windows to go up or down...now somewhere on this forum there is a bright spark who has routed more power through a relay to the window motors to help them go faster. This is great however cannot find the thread now to catch up with that pheader. Can anyone help if this is possible...how...and is it harmful to the motors?

That was Seasider on this thread.

First thing I'd do is spray some silicone into the runners. 3 In 1 do some.

Take the door panel off and grease the lift mechanism, it makes far more difference than spraying up the guides etc.
If everything is working properly the standard electrics are up to the job.

Stripped my drivers window system out completely, checked the motor out, and replaced the furflex material in the guides.

Runs alot better now

The thread is just up the page a bit, seasider. Ok they will be slightly quicker constantly emerged in oil, but a 12v motor is much better at 12v than 8v.

Greased mine up two years ago, still working the same as when I did them.
No reason for there to be 8v at the motor if all the wiring is as it should be.

Well, that's kinda the problem... they didn't come from the factory wired as they should be

O.k. so we are saying that the 12v motor only has an 8v feed?? So what do I need to do to get the full power to the motor...what bits etc??? Anyone??

Put relays in the circuit before it goes into the door, the wire into the door is twice the rating of the stuff up to that point, so is fine. We have put all details of wiring configuration up here, anybody find a link ?

Well, as mine(X Reg) work perfectly I will have to assume they must have had an off day when they wired mine

Yeah? Then you must be really nervous about what more significant things they screwed up as they were concentrating so hard on your windows... rolleyes
