really MUST get myself another copy of Steve Heath's book (gave last one away with car iirc). Meantime.. reacall there's a 'hidden' screw that adjusts the windows. One of my windows doesnt fit well at all, am hoping the screw will help.. but anyone know what adjustment it makes? (before I start blindly turning it to see what happens!)

THE book says: Unscrewing it will raise the glass a few mm but it is limited by the rear rubber buffer!?!? Unscrewing 3-4 turns raises the glass about 3mm.

If you remove the interior door trim, you will see the screw at the top of the window winding mechanism, roughly in the middle of the door and gets hidden just uder the top edge of the trim when this is in place.

Sounds like that's the one I remember.. I could reach it OK without removing the trim though? Both windows cd do with a bit of fettling but the near side 1 is really out of alignment.. the bottom of the front edge doesnt sit in the pilar too well.

Plenty of tinkering to do!! Got 2 weeks off soon. Decorating is in the diary. I wonder.............

If it's not sitting in the pillar well chance are it'll need aligning better rather than just altering the height, I fitted a new motor and mechanism to mine a few months back, you can adjust the window on the mechanism and there is movement in the mechanism it's self as it bolts to the door. You'll need to take the door trim off to do that though, for height adjustment the screw hides behind the rubber seal and can get to it with the window down.

you can reach it easy without removing trim. wind window down and look inside top. half way along the window brush.

hmmm there goes the decorating then.....
