Morning all

How long should a clutch last on a 400 chim, roughly? (I know, depends on where and how one drives it). Mine seems to be slipping after each gear change, at 43,000 miles. Is that about right? cheers..

Yep. Ours lasted about 40,000 miles too. Getting a new one transformed the car!

Mines just had its third at 45k, though to be fair the 2nd clutch was fine until the clutch fork snapped and pierced through the plates and slave cylinder.

Dont be tempted to get a race clutch put in my normal clutch did 52k the race clutch has just started slipping after 18k, so its back to a normal clutch for me.

52K in my 450, get a 500 clutch put in and new thrust bearings while your at it. definitely improves the clutch feel and makes it lighter too!

First one lasted 75,000.

Second one 15,000.

And third 1,500 but that was due to oil contamination (on both second and third). The Boys at Racing Green did themselves proud and sorted it free of charge.

Hopefully this one will last another 75,000.

My 400 did just over 66k miles before clutch started to slip and was changed! That's better than some rep-mobiles.......no complaints here!

I had mine changed for the first time at 77k miles.

..and that's a lot of miles if you consider the performance. Despite posting the occasional request for help, I love seeing responses and threads on here which illustrate just what fine machinery we owncool.

Now, if I can only find the socket for that radio jack plug wire that's hanging loose in the passenger footwell I might be able to have in-car music again. Or if I could locate the dodgy connection which results in my main dash blower not coming on sometimes..
Oh, and I must get round to replacing that wiper park switch..again

Best car I've owned.

All but 50k on the original here and all seems well (touch wood). And that's with me driving for most of it.
