Looks reasonable. Does this include tappet adjustment.
My recent 18,000 mile service came to £800, but I had tappets adjusted aswell as all fluids changed.

Tappets is due on the 24,000.. I was quoted £1200 for that service at westover sports cars in dorset!

660 was inc all fluids, parts, labour.. VAT. Break down was £110 for parts and 550 for labour (6 hours). (10% discount)

What Wasteover sports - I would'nt trust them with a barge poll, let alone my Tam again - ever.

They had my Tiv for 6 weeks trying to repair the power steering mechanismmad. In the process of repairing it they damaged my steering rackmadmadmad, which they had to refurbishmadmad.

Was without the Tam for weeks - not good enoughnononononono.

Sorry I'll stop because they are just a waste over timegrumpy

I use David Henry - Very pleased with the results of the service. David Hendry's son Andrew is running the TVR section now. They are so helpfull there.

For a 6k service i would say you,ve had your arse slapped.

£1200 for a 12k service is daylight robbery. £800 tops with all the tappets done as well.

I would go somewhere else if i was you.

i've used kingsx in past for ods and sods and been pretty satisfied with customer service, will probably use them for the 12k service, more for convenience though as i'm based in e.london.any idea what sort of price to expect for the 12k?

I use them all the time - very good service in my opinion. Am always wary of the prices but the ease for me (i live 5 mins away in Farringdon) means its a no brainer...

They have 24 hour drop off/pick also which is a god send for me.

They just did my clutch and will be doing my 12k service in a few months..

Richard is the service guy and he'll always look after you. I've also spoken with the workshop foreman (Andy) quite a lot and he has even given me personal numbers to get in touch with him at home when I had terrible problems in Switzerland last month..

Oh, and the do a great wash and wax everytime!

Just had the 12,000 miles service on my Tam with London TVR. Total cost £698 inc all parts, labour and VAT. Andy is a good guy who is very honest about the car and always does his best to get everything done ASAP.

Servicing prices seem to vary massively, even between franchised dealers

My car is coming up to its 2nd service (1st one on this engine though), and I've used Gatwick TVR so far (purchased car through them) and they've been pretty good for warranty work and that so I'm keen to go back to them. Only problem is, according to their fixed price servicing (www.gatwicktvr.co.uk/service_costs.htm ), it is going to cost me a fortune:

12000 mile (2nd) service - £936.03 (my car will be on 8500 miles)
Given it may need an interim tappet adjustment as well, it could be another £352.50 on top of that - the web site is not very clear and seems to state the £936.03 service does not include the tappets

Now I like Gatwick, but I can't help feeling they'll be pulling my pants down a little bit if I go with them. Any experiences here?

It is worth noting that if anyone like me has the TVR approved used warranty, with the wear and tear option, you MUST use an approved dealer. Otherwise I'd probably go to Austec

It really depends on loyalty as to what price people are charged. People who keep shoping never get a deal in the long term
