Has anyone seen the Lambo crash pics that are doing the rounds at the moment? Pretty horrific, don't think I should post a link until someone gives an okay. It's pretty harrowing though

I believe they were two girls that were in the car? Would they have stood a better chance if the car had more conventional doors? Say if it had been a Gallardo instead?

If it is the yellow one that ends up on it's roof on fire. No thank you.
Nasty pictures and not suitable on PHs.

That's understandable, hence why I asked.

Does anyone know the story as to what happened? The site I saw was foreign.

Yes they were and in all my life I have never seen pictures in the public domain that were so bad.

I haven't seen the pics in question, but this question is one that I've heard several times before, and something I've been putting a lot of thought into on my project car, on turning over with scissor doors you are a bit screwed (pressume that's what is happening in the pics) whereas with more conventional doors you might not be so. I really like scissor doors and dont intend to go putting a car on its roof, but then I didn't intend to have many accidents I've had in the past!

Having seen the pictures, I think its safe to say that the occupants would of perished in the crash itself.

I think if a car lands on its roof with that much force the weight of the car will prevent anyone bar Superman opening a standard set of doors anyway.

Truely horrible but as has been said the car was so flattened I'd be amazed any door would have opened!

RIP!

Because of that issue of not being able to open the scissor doors, I keep one of these in the car ...lifehammer

Obviously, won't help in an accident as serious as that one, but in that event where you need to get out of the side window, it may help!!!

Not trying to be funny here or cast aspersions , but could you fit through the side window on any Lambo? I've only had very limited experience of them but from memory I reckon even Kate Moss would have problems?! (hope to be corrected though, as this would prove a simple solution to my quandry!)

It happened in the Czech republic a few days ago.
The Lambo apparently lost control on a poorly surfaced road at about 100 mph.
The car left the road and ended up on it's roof in some woods, where it caught fire.
Apparently, the driver was taking a young lady for a ride in the car for a treat.
I have seen a news report that suggests that the crash did not kill the occupants, but the fire that ensued, claimed their lives.
I have seen the photos and can conclude that nobody really wants to see them!

oh it's that one - haven't seen any pics, just the news footage. In the footage there were blue canvasses covering the side windows of the car, would I be right in assuming in the photo's they weren't there and hence the unpleasant nature of them?

Nasty way to go.
I rolled my cossie once on track and ended on the roof and had to climb out of the window as there was no way the door would open.... I remember it was very disorientating and even had to crawl out of the passenger side as driver window was crushed to about 3inches.
I even remember standing there watching the petrol pour out of the tanks and thinking that can't be good.

However I am still using scissor doors on my project, sad as it is facts remain its a very rare accident.
