Just occasionally dear old Blighty serves up a sunny, calm evening in the midst of a nasty old grey day. I grasped the opportunity for an hour tooling around on the 600RR and reminded myself what she's all about. It's no good, I'll have to keep her, and buy an old nail for the commute!!! :-)

So, what can I get for around a grand, that will happily carry me to my local rail station, sit there all day and not rot away to nothing in five minutes. Oh, and won't draw too much attention from the average bike thief!

And no, I don't want a car! :-)

cheers

Depending on how near the station is - how about a scooter!

£250 will get you a nice Honda C90. They do 50mph, 120mpg and wheelie for England. Can't go wrong.

I was thinking more along the lines of a Suzuki 500, or Honda Hornet etc...

I just flogged a 15k mile, X plate Hornet for £1200 so you can certainly find something within your budget. You'll probably find a bit more rewarding to ride than the c90, even if you can't bunny hop the hornet hehe

Get yourself a good lock and chain though, 'cause the Hornet's going to be fairly nickable
