What do YOU think are the plus points of this particular L7 type?

Thought they looked pretty good, and well priced. I am still looking into the whole L7 thing and which way to spend the money burning a hole in my pocket. Why do you ask?

Well...I haven't looked at the prices of these or any other similar looking kits, but from the photos I'd guess the price is pretty competitive.

Er, OK, I'll say it. It looks pretty low rent to me. I'm only a hammer chewer kit car builder, but that chassis looks as if it's been developed empirically, rather than with any science, and the welding doesn't look too clever.

You can have Good, Fast, and Cheap. But not all three at once.

Yup got to agree - looks like a wardrobe on wheels

Could well be nicely made, cheap to build and a nice drive.. but the(ahem..)styling & proportions are all over the place.

So many better-looking options out there IMHO

I will get off the fence.

That looks s***.

Looks to me like they have taken every bad bit from all the 7 replicas and based it around the far-too-wide early Robin Hood bulkhead. If you squint it looks like a crashed Sriker. I am sorry, but it cost no more to design a pretty car than an ugly one, just talent.

That's my point too. Doesn't matter how well it goes (and of that I have no knowledge) when it looks like a dogs dinner. When I was looking I discounted them on appearances alone.

I am sorry, had another look to try to be constructive but that is so poor it harks back to the 80's bad old days. Check out the organge car in rear 3/4 view. So wrong. And the hood...... Better be cheap as you can get FAR nicer '7 reps on the road for 5k. If you want cheap 7-esque the Sylva R1ot is the daddy, and i'd bet my house it would bury that thing handling wise.

buy a cheap Striker or Westfield off ebay, take it to bits, overhaul it and stick nice motor inside. Job done.

Bet you can do it for less than 5k - and you will still be miles better off than buying one of these cheap horrors.

Have to agree with some of the above posts - I didn't think it would be possible to make such a classicaly simple yet beautiful shape look.... well, so shite!!!

Really dont like it at all, they appear to have taken all the asthetics of the 7 series and thrown them out the window - reckon it would have taken more effort to make it look that wrong than to make it look right!!!

I have to say i think i am looking to deeply into these cars. I am trying to find different makes and pursuade myself that a cheaper one is a better option. My inital thoughts were get a Caterham. But they are too expensive to buy and the insurance, lets not even go there!

So then i think Westie, and this is still probably my favorite, but then i see Tiger, which i like allot then MK Indy. I know i need to drive them but most ads are not test pilots so how will i get a total feel as to what i want. My favorite by far is in the classifieds on here. A lovely green Westie, a little over my budget but it looks fantastic, and is pretty much what i am looking for. Maybe i should just get the money together and buy it instead of looking a silly ideas and wasting my time with silly cars.

Thanks for opening my eyes everybody!!! eek

DId you see the picture with the wet gear on.....biglaugh

You mean that piece of plastic fabric drapped loosely between the roll bar and the front screen? hehe I'd love to see that after a small amount of rain - still, I suppose you could put some fish and plants in the resulting pond!!!

get yourself over to www.locostbuilders.co.uk/ and have a chat with the residents there.

Lots of friendly people and lots f good advice. You'll probably find someone close to you with your preferred option of car willing to give you a look around and maybe a trip out in it.

looks are in the eye of the beholder for something that you lot are saying is ugly built up from ideas of diffrent sevens thats fine but the ten customers that are driving round in there cars must not think the same and the fifteen orders on the books now waiting to be built cant say i am doing too bad and this is all from the begining of this year
i know the car isnt the niciest one out there but they are very well built and very fast

You are absolutely correct, it is in the eye of the beholder, and how mean do I feel for my comments now?!?! paperbag

I wont say I've changed my opinion, because I haven't, but maybe I should have been a little more constructive in my critisism.

It is good to hear you are doing well in such a short timeframe, my personal opinion from the pictures is there is room for a lot more development of the bodywork, it wouldn't take a lot to change the asthetics from current, but I feel the lines dont flow at the moment, making it look awkward, and the wet weather gear looks... questionable.

From the gallery there doens't appear to be any support structure to keep the roof above the window/rollbar line to provide adequate run off, so I'd be very surprised if anything other than a light shower didn't result in a huge puddle and sagging.
