I have new Rear AVO shocks and springs, but they are non height adjustable,
I was wondering if I could Lathe the Shock Spring Cup as per arrow, and fix a threaded sleave with a nut as the spring cup. see diagrams.

Can anyone see a problem doing this.

good idea, only draw back could be the thread, if it is machined, it will need to be heat treated or it'll be too soft. If it is forged (like most bolts are) no worries. If you were planning on using a pre-made sleeve with thread, forget all that other stuff and do it !

You'd need different springs of course, but I don't see any reason not to. Personally I'd just put one of the standard adjustable spacers under the spring rather than try to thread it onto the original spring seat, because I think that would involve a lot of faffing around. But if that doesn't bother you and you prefer to DIY then it seems like a viable approach to me.

Im not sure why I would need new springs, also I thought It would be a lot easyier to adjust than keep trying different spacers.

The car sits about 1/2 - 3/4 inch too low. it has new springs and Shocks, but it has no spaces, I'm told it should have had some.

I assumed your adjustable spring seat would fit between the original fixed spring seat and the bottom of the spring. That's the conventional approach, anyway.

Or you could just purchase a GAZ unit with the adjustability feature

Would it not be easier to buy different length springs as you seem to know how far you need to move it and I wouldn't have though 1/2" would take it off the seat confused. Not totally sure though hehe

The Esprit has adjustable-platform AVOs fitted, maybe they'd work on the TVR too? Damping is variable also...

I thought AVO's had adjustable platform at rear, I know when I replaced them on the 350 they did, and I have a set sitting in my back garden waiting to go to AVO for refurb so that I can stick em on the 400

Well The later AVO are adjustable but I have the early type. and as the shocks and springs are new, could not see the point buying new ones. also I like the setup I currently have, just have a problem with the tires rubbing on the arches, Esp if I put anything in the boot.

If that's the only problem then just put a small spacer under the spring and you're sorted, no need for any of this complicated stuff cutting threads and so on.
