Having just had a top day at Donington, I think I might have warped my front discs. As the day wore on I noticed a judder under heavy braking. Also driving home the brakes seemed a little lifeless could this be caused by the discs warping?
I'm currently running standard discs (not sure how old as they have been on the car since I brought it in Feb and have done 2 trackdays on them) with EBC Red Stuff pads, dot5.1 and Goodridge braided hoses. I've been told the pads can warp the brakes due to the high metal content in them?
Is there is anything else that could be causing the judder and which brands of discs are worth looking at for occasional track use and some road use?

They might not be warped. It is possible to create a very similar feeling by giving them a good "pasting" on a track then parking up and putting the handbrake on. It "welds" a bit of pad surface to the disc when then feels like a warped disc each time it passes between the pads as the wheel revolves.

i warped two sets of discs on my Alfa 156 GTA, 4 pot brembos as standard but a poor designed disc meant whenever it was on track it just cooked them, the discs were both only around 4000 mile when they went, felt a juddering through the steering wheel once upto speed, but only on gentle pressing of the brake i felt it. sold the car now though

Can happen with any pads. I know these things...from many moons ago, in an era before Red Stuff was thought of.
My son had a 306GTi6 and suffered warped front discs a couple of times...road use only.
Talking to EBC technical the other day. Their man says don't use RedStuff on the track, they can be knackered after 3 laps. Says Yellow Stuff is a must, and OK for road use. I was discussing a Celica GT4.
