Thanks to Manu & Ajay again for another extremely happy customer !

My 550 now has no silencing from the cats back and the transformation is beyond belief. I can't even begin to describe what she sounds like now.

Best moments so far are :-

1. Starting her after filling up with petrol and watching the women at the pump behind nearly jump out of her skin

2. Coming back through the Hatfield Tunnel on my way home. I used to think my 355 sounded good through it but this is unbelievable

Frostie

PS. Kev if you are around this weekend fancy having a listen ?

Nice one Frostie,
I have been driving a 550 today with a sports exhaust. and a 360 Spider and a Caterham at Drive & Survive near oxford. What a blast, the 550 had so much grunt and it also sounded the Dogs!! I can't wait to hear your 550 when it has been on a while. The 456 is definately louder/deeper now and it pops and bangs on the downshifts .

See you soon
G.

Mark, I too am looking forward to hearing the 550. How does it compare to the 355 with tubi? I'm reliably informed that it is one loud b******.

Enjoy!

Its very loud. The stereo system which was adequate before is now next to useless ! The best thing is that if you blip the throttle on down changes its now possible to hear it. It has attracted a few more lunatics trying to race me but I just back off and let them get on with their 10 seconds of glory,

I actually think through tunnels or streets with buildings both sides its louder than a 355. I think the deepness of the note reverberates more Once you give it some right foot it screams like a 355, a lower tone but still a scream.

Its already cracking and popping on overrun and down changes so once its run in I dread to think. Manu promised me the potential of flames - I believe him

Frostie,

I would be really keen to hear your car being used in anger. I was once behind a 550 with a Koenig exhaust, and whilst its six tail pipes looked ludicrous, it did sound menacing.

Half of Egham could testify to that!

Mark

There was a red Tubi'd 550 at VW earlier in the month. Your's Decatted should sound even more mental, especially after 2k miles when it's "coked up".

Flames Huh! Tremendous

cheers

Pathetic freaks... looks like Ninja and Basher have to team up against me... (how cosy...)

For the benefit of those who don't know, Frostie's 550 is running a VERY exotic exhaust system - its not a "conventional" tubi. We junked the rear mufflers for special order Tubi Style "Solo" pipes and the centre tunnel silencer for a custom unsilenced X-pipe with a tiny resonator to give the engine a little backpressure. The cats are still there to stop things getting WILDLY/INSANELY loud.

It sounds kind of like a 250LM...... And it LOUD..

(I'm planning to bin them cats too though when I get round to getting my 550 )

Edited to say - I have VIDEOS.....!

Well I've just come back from the pub, having seen, and more importantly HEARD, Frostie's car for the first time.

Outrageous! Fantastic race car sound at idle, and when revving it. Totally different sound quality to a Tubi'd V12- more metallic and harder edged. Followed Frostie part of the way home and when he gave it some @rseholes, it just howled. Sounds just like a Daytona in fact- bit like a 355 that's been swallowed by a bear. Lovely 'crack' each time he changed up too. No flames though (yet).

Lovely looking car too- Bordeaux interior looks fantastic. Think the thread title is absolutely spot on.

Kev - it's pretty amazing to think that THAT sound is lurking inside all the modern Ferrari V12s.... It's pretty awesome - I emailed a video to a Tubi'd Diablo/F355 and he said it's the best sounding car he's ever heard... ...

mdg - we're getting our website designer onto it - in the meantime, I'll email you offline.

Jesus Manu- that was subtle I'm getting an insight into how the women round Egham must feel- do you EVER give up?
