Laptop choice

I've seen two i'm interested in. Need your opinions. Dont know much about Gateway. Are they anygood? Both have similar speck.

If it were a toss up between those two I'd go for the Toshiba personally.
As with the usuall 'Go buy a Dell' threads, make sure you get the best warranty you can afford.

Hi.

Ended up buying a new DELL Inspiron 6400. 1.83 centrino processor, 80GB, 1G RAM, DVDRW, 56 fax modem, wifi, windows XP + software+ warranty - £510 off ebay.....but bought from the shop in Sheffield, so no postage.

I have the Toshiba and it's been great.

I use an IBM for work and I don't like that as much. Plus they're not that reliable.

There are a lot on ebay. They are cancelled/returned orders distributed by dell, so they are effectively new. Because they are 'made to order', they arent stripped down but passed on to outlets. They still retain the warranty too. The warranty on mine started when it was shipped out.....3 days ago. Mine would have cost around £200 extra. I'm well pleased....unless theres something hidden that i'm not aware of.

You can also buy them direct from Dell too...
