Hi guys, do you know what brand/type of sealant TVR use to seal around the head & tail light covers on the Sagaris. It's a sort of greyish matt colour rather than black gloss. I've got black silicone butit does not match.

I want to try and get a better seal on the bottom of one of my fronts as water is getting in through a gap after it popped up. Don't want to have it cut out if possible as have heard this can be difficult - plastic breaking, paint damage, replacement needs trimmed to fit and painted around the edges with black!

Also have a minor issue with one of the rears.

I made fish tank once which only sprank a leak after 11 years or so. Prepared to have a go before going down the complete removal route via dealer.

Thanks,
Gary.

surely a sag is under warranty and a main stealer should be plugging the leaks for free?

Gary, it is a warranty issue - once you've played it won't be. Don't doubt you can do a good job, just the long term to think about.

After all, these cars are going to last for some time, going on the reliability we are all seeing out of them.

would be interesting to know where to find this sealant as the (black) sealant on my rear t350 light lets in water when i wash the car,

also im fed up of looking at the spiders and tiny bugs settling down and making homes in my headlights, how do i get the covers off to give them a clean out?

cheers

Careful, you'll have the Greens voting on pistonheads for spider's rights!!

Same though, the rear lights on the previous 'Gris were pretty dusty inside. Didn't look good at all.

I've re sealed both the fronts on my Tam and the rears on my T350 with normal black sylicone sealant. It starts off as shiny black, but when properly cured and has had polish over it, it goes dull and looses it blingness.

I used a product made by 'soudal' called 'fixall' (google it) It has no solvents in it unlike most sikaflex which has 1% solvent, to damage the black mask on the inside,
I know this works ! as after 3 attempts at fitting new rear side windows using sikaflex which melts the black paint.the soudal worked for me. Yes i know there are types of sikaflex out there with no solvents in it, but i don't know the part number.

PS I my first attempt was using black silicon to bond in a new head light lense, it fell out at speed and was driven over by the car behind, expensive cock up!!
