Just a quick one, I'm in the process of setting up a property investment venture as a sole trader.

I'm looking to build up a relationship with a business banking manager and I'll be setting up a business bank account for the venture.

However, I am currently living in rental accommodation where according to the tenant agreement I am 'Not to use or permit the Premises to be used for any profession, trade or business whatsoever'.

Anyone know what my options are?

Cheers beer

Try using an alternative address. Perhaps the bank will allow the use of a PO Box No. Alternatively, maybe your accountant might allow you to use their office as an address of convenience.

Thanks Eric, wasn't sure whether the bank would allow that. Might end up trying my mother's address. Mum's the word eh

I use these guys (www.westbury.co.uk) in order to give me a postal address in the UK. However, most of those lease clauses are there to stop people running businesses with lots of activity (visitors, deliverys, etc.) which might disturb other residents. If you're running a small consultancy and go out to visit customers I doubt you'd get in touble.

As above I think its only to stop you having lots of people visiting etc. If you will just have a small office and go out to visit clients I can't see there being a problem. Lots of people work from home now even if its just for 1 day a week.
