Went for a long blast in the LP640 today. Cos of the torrential rain this afternoon I didn't even bother driving it (will do next week now). One thing for sure is the engine sounds so different to the Murcielago 6.2. Much much more urgent and angry. The whole car feels taut bit like a coiled spring. Rocco driving (from Lambo Manchester) did'nt even need to push it before the rear end was twitching. The 6.2 has a very lazy way of accelerating which inspires you with confidence until you suddenly realise just what huge speed you are doing. The 640 is more violent more neck snapping. But the best thing of all is in total contrast to the 6.2 (which always has felt a little stressed at 7000rpm) is its tremendous free revving ability. The needle shoots around the counter totally unlike the 6.2 ever did. Lamborghini have reworked the 6.5 litre to have variable valve timing on both the inlet and outlet camshafts and it makes a huge difference from a 6.2 owners point of view, simply cos you don't feel a shade uncomfortable at higher revs. Its not as different say as a 360 to a 360 Stradale, but its not meant to be. But with its looks and performance its still super value at 190k. Just hope its reliable as me current Murci

On the downside, the lambo's on the back burner as the house cost $%$" loads Bloody property developers (errrrr, wooops)

So when you get your next monster please bring it along to the "Cars in the park". I need cheering up.......
