TVR servicing in Norway?

Hi,
I'm about to take my Tamora over to Norway for a holiday (12 months) does anyone know if there is a place near Stavanger that specialises in TVR servicing? it will need the 12,000 service while out there and so i need the wanrranty to still be valid with an acceptable service stamp?

What about snow tyres ?

I seem to recall some sort of law that says you must use different tyres or chains from about October to April

Having said that the Tunnels are superb would love to take the Griff June time.

I do know that you have to put snow tyres on at sometime over the winter months but the Tamora is so low at the from if I did use it when snow was on the ground it would end up being a snow plough!!. My intention is store it over the bad winter months and use the excellent bus service they have over there

There is also the issue of how long you can keep a foreign reg/import car in Norway before you have to pay tax/duty whatever. If I remember rightly, you have to present your papers to the police within a certain period of having arrived, and are only allowed to have the car there for a given time.

Oh, and be very careful of the speed limits - KMPH not MPH, and the fines are linked to salary if you are resident: if you are not a resident, they are still very impressive. I know of at least one ex-pat who is currently serving a long driving ban following a speeding offense, a mini cooper owner.

The speeds are almost walking pace for a TVR, and rigidly enforced.

I have already checked this out, I can have the car for a full year without paying the import tax! or putting Norwegian plates on it. The Main problem is the insurance! my current insurance will only cover fully comp for the 1st 30 days, after that it will be 3rd party only. The Norwegian insurance companies wont insure it while on UK plates. But there is a clause in the green card system on the insurance! If the car returns to the UK for 1 day I can get a 30 day green card again So I might be taking it back on the ferry to Newcastle if I can't get the insurance I need.

Speed limits are poor over there! 56MPH on the motorways! 37MPH on A roads 19MPH in built up areas. I have a road angel Plus Nigerian and UK driving licenses so if the worst does come to the worst the Nigerian one can go! it only lasts a year in Europe anyway. Sweden is better for speeds so will be crossing the border a few times (weather permitting).

There is also the issue of changing number plates on the car - if it has a different registration, it is effectively a different car...... simple but effective.
