Yesterday was the wettest the Wedge has been since BBWF05!
Driving down the A36 towards Salisbury I had several …interesting moments, one whilst passing the A303 junction which had traffic lights out. Not sure which was loudest, the horn or the brown trouser noise! The other was whilst travelling in convoy, 3 series BMW in front and a gold Golf behind. Unusually the BMW was observant enough to notice where the road had flooded ahead and was courteous enough to use his indicators to pass the information on! So we worked our way round the hazards in safety for many miles. Goldie Golf behind seemed not to observe our indicators or manoeuvrings to avoid the lake like puddles and to huge comedy effect ploughed headlong through every piece of standing water in it's path! I have to admit the huge white walls of surf being kicked up by Goldie were somewhat distracting and it made it all the more difficult to see the road in front as I had tears of laughter welling up in my eyes. At the Wilton roundabout we each went our own ways and I felt a little sad that the moment was over. The final few miles home were uneventful and the Wedge slipped snug and warm into its garage for a dry night.
PS Either the clutch is on its way out or the tyres and power delivery are amazingly user friendly in the wet. Felt shore footed and safe… well most of the time anyways.
