Mrs G thinks she may have been popped by a scamera van....but not sure...

We have just moved house and her driving licence home address is old, I assume this is the only way they can track her down initially....

Any advice..?

Would a phone call to the DVLA help...?
She is panicking a bit...

You need to send off her licence and change the RK address of the car.

I guess they wownt find you but sticking her head in the stand wownt help

Still if you decide to play the waiting game at least its more time you can waste.

No..

On the contrary - she wants to pay up and own up if she was busted...
She is worried that they won't track her down and it will make things worse..

DVLA stuff is on its way..

She actually WANTS to pay and get points?
That's a first on here, then!

Well....what I mean is..

She doesn't want to let it get any worse....

And if that means fine and points then so be it, having her licence taken away for a year was very unpleasant and having it back now is very valuable for her.

What I would do is this. I would wait until you've been moved for about 2 months. Then send your licences and V5's to DVLA to notify change of address.
If you hear nothing within a few months you are home clean. If an NiP is subsequently delivered to your new home you just respond to it in the normal way as you'll have the 28 days. However, if you do receive the NiP, respond to it just at the end of the period allowed (28 days), then ask for the photos and any other evidence as you are not sure who was driving, then, finally admit who was driving. It may by then be over the 6 months allowed to lay information for a prosecution. There are ways of delaying this for the 6 months, but you must respond to the NiP within the time limits they set although you can string this out by asking for the photos, then suggesting that it could have been either of you, then, finally 'fessing up'.
It is not your responsibility to ask for an NiP just because you may have committed an offence. It's up to the scammers to contact you. It won't be any worse than 3 points and a fine, so just hang in there and wait and see.

Isn't it a £1000 fine for not updating the address on your licence?

out of intrest, say you just ignored it and hoped it went away, would the outstanding ticket pop up if an ANPR car drove past you, or do they just deal with tax, mot and insurance.

£2000, and you get a grace period of sorts (missus got away with 7 months, hell of a grace period if you ask me!)

Gorvid tell Mrs G I'm not surprised, she has that evil twinkle in her eye of a demon speeder hehe

I got away with 10 years - was moving every 9 months or abroad. I got a bit of a bollocking by the officer who dealt with an accident report though. It's correct mow.
